Words to live by. My mama always said, Everything has a home: Put things in their place! Hearing this throughout my childhood probably made me the highly organized (and slightly OCD) designer that I am today, but I love this playful approach to that good advice! Today's Inspiration: Northern Lights

Northern Lights. Browsing msnbc.com this morning, I ran across this image of the northern lights in Yukon, Canada. Was immediately reminded of The Icarus Project jacket art by Erwin Madrid, who completely nailed the color and beauty of the aurora.  

The Icarus Project by Laura Quimby will be available from Amulet Books in October 2012.

What I did today . . .

Luv Ya Bunches Book 4: Awesome Blossom Emoticons. Even though they'll be used at a teensy-weensy scale, I love adding little bits of detail to make these illustrations special. Look for them when the book comes out in January 2013.
